New clients will be charged a retainer fee at their first appointment ($200 to meet with Christine, $300 to meet with Charles) - this covers your meeting and will be applied to the income tax return preparation.
The tax planner / organizer is a useful tool for you to organize and collect your information. You can fill this out and attach supporting documentation. There are seperate sections for:
2015 Tax Question (2) page checklist ~ to remind you what information you need to provide
W2 Employment Income ~ list (and attach) your W2's
Pension and Retirment Income ~ your 1099R and Social Security Income
Itemized Deductions (SchA) ~ Your medical, tax, mortgage interest, charitable, and non-reimbursed business expenses
Employee Business Expenses (Form 2106) ~ detailed business expenses not reimbursed by your employer
Child and Dependent Care Expenses (IRS 2441) ~ need the name, federal id, address, and amount paid to each
Interest and Dividend Income (sch B) ~ your 1099-DIV and 1099-INT statements
Business Income and Expenses (Sch C) ~ if you have a small business, you can summarize your income and expenses here
Capital Gains and Losses (Sch D) ~ 1099-B Proceeds - we need the date bought and cost basis to calculate this
Rental Real Estate and Royalties (Sch E) ~ income and expenses by property for your rental real estate
Foreign Earned Income (IRS 2555) ~ your foreign address and list of countries by total # days in each.
For prior year tax clients, your planner will include the numbers from last year, helping to remind you that you need to find those amounts for 2015. We will get planners out to you via email or regular mail, please let us know which you prefer. Please contact us if you have questions about using the planner - to help make your life less taxing!

Our offices are conveniently located at the Mark Center office complex in west Alexandria, Virginia. Our office hours are by appointment only. We have evening and weekend appointments available.
As you've found us on the Internet, you're eligible for a 30% discount on our individual income tax preparation. Our fee for individual income tax preparation is by the number of tax forms that you need, so the cost will vary depending on your situation.
This year, a simple 1040 starts at $257, with a typical individual Federal & state return with itemized deductions, including the 30% discount, would be about $567. That also includes free electronic filing, and the comfort of having a professional CPA prepare and sign your tax returns. Additional tax forms or excessive research could increase that price.
New for the 2015 tax year, we are now offering a FREE secure e-Signature service, so that you can review and sign your tax return via secure e-mail.
